You do have something to say about who the person you will become!
In fact, the image of yourself that you hold in your mind and heart is the predictor of who you will become. The person who believes he are a failure will find a way to fail. The person who believes she is not valuable will live life demonstrating that she is not valuable. The person who thinks he is dumb will act accordingly. You get the point, right?
So the question is, who do you desire to become? I believe every person holds within their subconscious a picture of the person they are meant to be. Get hold of that picture, bring it into you conscious awareness, and hold that image – no matter what. By the way, this is not hocus-pocus, psychobabble, or just positive thinking.
When you hold a positive, confident, inspiring view of yourself, and you don’t allow naysayers to dissuade you, you will begin to live into that self-image. When that happens you will begin to attract the resources and relationships that make that life possible. This is not instant change, it requires a deep seated commitment and perseverance.
A word of caution. Often those most dear to us are the ones to discourage us in our pursuit of maximizing our potential. As my mentor, Les Brown, says: “Other people’s opinion of you is none of your business!” I love that.
So, in your heart of hearts, who do you really want to become? Go for it! I believe in you, believe in yourself.
Make this a great day!
