I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This is a very special time of the year for the Glover household. It is a time when we pause to celebrate the birth of our Savior, and look forward to the coming of a new year.
For me this is also a time of reflection. If you want a more successful 2017 (only you can determine what successful means for you), you may want to join me in this process.
Here are some questions I am working through.
What did I accomplish in 2016? What did I want to accomplish, but did not accomplish? Where am I now in the different facets of life? Where to do I desire to be this time next year? Most importantly, “why” do I want to achieve more in 2017. As Simon Sinek says in his great book, Start With “Why“, knowing your “why” and being true to that motivation is key to long-term success.
As I answer those questions, I really want to be crystal clear on the answers. The greater your clarity on this, the more likely you are to achieve it! Once I have that clarity, I need to ask other questions.
What do I have in my life tool kit that I want to maximize?
What do I need to acquire?
What am I doing daily that I need to continue, and even improve?
What do I need to eliminate?
What do I need prioritize on my calendar and budget?
If I achieve my 2017 goals, how will it feel? Are you motivated by this dream enough that you will consistently execute your plan? If not, re-think your “WHY”!
OK, this is enough to get us moving. So, block out some time, and lets get on to maximizing our potential?
Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Danny
P.S. – 2016 has been a year of life-change for our household, and I look forward to getting back on track in 2017. So, be ready to hear from me more consistently!
